      <image:title>bio - Lara Lewis</image:title>
      <image:caption>Lara Lewis (she/her) is a queer mixed Mi'kmaw theatre artist from Kjipuktuk who primarily works as an actor and dramaturge. Lara is an ACTRA apprentice and Playwrights Guild of Canada Member. A graduate of the University of King's College &amp; the Fountain School of Performing Arts, Lara has trained as a dramaturge under the mentorship of Pamela Halstead, Natasha MacLellan, Jenny Munday, and Ann-Marie Kerr, among others. Since beginning her training, she has worked with writers across the country and internationally on projects big and small. She is currently the Associate Artistic Director at the Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre. Lara is also a Merritt Award-nominated actor, having worked with companies like Theatre New Brunswick, Villains' Theatre, Heist, Solo Chicken Productions, Eastern Front Theatre, Nestuita’si Storytelling, and Zuppa Theatre. She has received additional training via Ghost River Theatre’s National Devising Intensive, Solo Chicken Production’s Spring Training, and Butoh dance with Emiko Agatsuma. Outside of theatre, Lara is part of the curation committees for the Hellifax Horror Festival and the Mayworks Kjipuktuk/Halifax Festival of Working People in the Arts, and has served on the boards of the Bus Stop Theatre Co-operative, Villains Theatre, and Halifax Fringe Festival. In 2023 she won a Merritt Award for Outstanding Volunteer for her work with the Bus Stop Theatre Co-op. She was a founding worker-owner of the Glitter Bean Café Union Co-op, and is a member of Glooscap First Nation. @thisislaralewis</image:caption>
